Yard Waste Removal in Spring, TX

The last part of stop three is the yard itself: pine needles, oak leaves, overgrown shrubs that came out, and the pile behind the shed nobody wants to look at.

The backlog

What Piles Up Under Spring's Trees

Spring's older sections sit under tall pines and oaks, and those trees drop material all year. Pine straw comes down in waves, oak leaves pile in fall and again in spring, and every trimming job leaves brush. Curbside service handles the steady trickle. What it does not handle well is the backlog.

Yard waste removal is the backlog: a season of bags, a bed of shrubs pulled for new landscaping, or the brush pile that turned into a place for things to live.

The judgment call

When a Haul Makes More Sense Than the Curb

  • More bags than a few collection days would take
  • Shrubs or roots too big to bundle
  • A pile mixed with other things: old pots, edging, a broken wheelbarrow
  • A deadline: a listing photo, an HOA letter, a party on Saturday
FAQ

Yard Waste Questions

Why does my MUD's trash service leave some of my bags?

Most Spring-area districts set weight and count limits. Harris County MUD 383, for instance, lists bagged yard waste at 30 pounds or less and five bags a day. Anything past the limit stays at the curb.

Is this the same as storm debris?

Not quite. After a declared storm the county and districts may run special collections with their own rules. Everyday yard waste is the pine straw, leaves and trimmings that pile up between storms.

Do you cut trees?

No. Cutting or felling a tree is tree service work, which this site does not cover. A hauling crew takes away limbs and brush that are already on the ground.

Clear the Pile

Say roughly how many bags or how big the pile is. The request goes to one independent Spring-area hauler, who quotes it.
