Mattress Removal in Spring, TX
Mattresses leave during stop four, usually with the bed frames, and often from an upstairs bedroom. A single one may fit your district's bulk rules; a houseful usually does not.
One Mattress or Six
A single mattress set is a curb question: check whether your MUD's trash service takes it as a bulk item, and on what day. The call to a hauler usually comes when there are several: a guest room, kids' rooms after they move out, a rental turnover, or an estate.
Box springs have a wooden frame inside and are heavier than they look. Adjustable bases have motors and cords and are closer to furniture than bedding.
Curbside, Where It Is Allowed
Harris County MUD 383, which serves part of Gleannloch Farms, lists furniture, appliances and mattresses as bulk items and caps them at two items per day. Neighboring districts write their own rules. The one on your street is the one that counts.

For the Call
- How many mattresses and box springs, and sizes
- Adjustable bases or metal frames
- Which floor
- Any bed bug history, so the crew can bag and seal
Mattress Questions
Why wrap a mattress before it goes?
Wrapping keeps it clean on the carry out and in the truck, and some drop-off sites prefer it. Crews often bring their own bags.
Can a mattress go out with MUD bulk pickup?
In some districts. Harris County MUD 383 lists mattresses among its bulk items, two items per day. Check your own district before setting one out.
What about bed bugs?
Say so on the call. Many crews will still take it, bagged and sealed, but they need to know. Treating the house is a pest control job.
Clear Out the Old Beds
Say how many and which rooms. The request goes to an independent Spring-area hauler who quotes the pickup.
